Clothes

When I was packing my things for New York, apparently I believed that the city would be weatherless. Maybe a little hot, but weatherless. My warddrobe has nothing in it but t-shirts, button downs, jeans and khakis. I have one light zipper hoodie and a track coat.

It's raining today, and raining hard. I don't have an umbrella. I tried to find one of my heavier coats that would actually deflect water, instead of absorbing it all like my hoodie did. My jeans, which are just long enough to drag on the sidewalk, performed osmosis on all the water on the ground and brought it up to my knees. I didn't realize jeans could absorb so much water.

The path train into manhattan was about to leave as I reached the platform. I jumped in at the last moment, a pretty common occurance in any car on the path. I guess it's not a common occurance to see an asian man completely drenched from head to toe, storing rain water in his knees. The beads of rain spattered on my glasses did much to accent the chaos that was me.

I've never bought an umbrella in my life. I own two. One I found after someone left it on campus. Finder's keepers. The other, was given to me when i was interning at atlanticare.

I guess it's time to buy one.
