The case of winter headgear

I started noticing about six years ago. First it was a hat with one too many poofballs. Then it progressed to hats with earflaps longer then they should be. Then jester hats. Then jester hats with one too many poofballs. Then jester hats with too many poofballs and earflaps longer than they should be.

What the hell?

Now walking down the street, headgear is just totally retarded. There are people who literally just look like eskimos because the fake fur lining on the hood of their jacket is so rediculously poofy. Then there are the headbands that aren't exactly headbands, but hats that have the tops cut out of them, with earflaps that are longer than they should be.

About a week ago, I saw a full grown man wearing headgear that made him look like he was about to go on an expedition to Antartica. It was like a hat with extra long earflaps that folded over the chin and mouth for ninja-mode, with another set of flaps with some strings that he didn't tie, so they just hung down. Even with my creative imagination, I had no idea what they were for. Maybe they were used to strangle yourself after you figured out how rediculous you looked walking through the streets of Philly with it.

Of course, people still where the stupid jester caps, and the newer jester caps that have the gajillion orange and purple strings flying off the top of the head, like some walking fireworks mascot. And some of them have poofballs hanging off all one gajillion of those strings.

I mean, I guess I have no right to talk. My cap is suppose to fit roundly over my head, but for some reason, the way it's stitched, two points form at the top if I don't pull it down tightly. It makes me look like a retarded sanrio character. But in my defense, at least I try to wear just a regular plain cap. I don't understand the fashion statement involved. What are those people trying to say? News flash: It doesn't work as an attention seeker when everyone else does it too, idiot.

I have to go buy an outrageously flamboyant hat to replace my retarded mashimaru sanrio hat.
