Saturday Evening Blog Post
There are three cars that I see on the road all the time that I always wish I had. They're not the newest cars, nor are they the most luxurious, and possibly, if you saw them, you'd be like, "why would you want that car?"
First Generation Mitsubishi Eclipse/Eagle Talon/Plymouth Laser
The more I see these cars, the more I like the way it looks. Sure, they don't even look THAT great, but anything it lacks in looks, it makes up for in performance. In turbo trim, it sports 205 horsepower, and some models it has all wheel drive. The engine is the same one that on today's Lancer Evolutions. That's right, the 4g63 for your car buffs. It can easily hit 13's in the quarter mile.
Nissan 300zx:
The Fair Lady Z is one of the finest looking cars ever. Forget the Supra/Rx-7 craze that everyone in america has. This car is just as good. Like the others, it's twin turbo rear wheel drive. The six cylinder pumps out 300 horsepower. Sure, it's a little on the heavy side, and it's hard as hell to work on, but the styling is what I like. I can't help it. I like cars that look like ferraris.
Other eclipses that aren't mine:
It's just not fair when you're driving down the street in your nice non-turbo eclipse that you worked so hard on to make look good AND fast, and some other turbo eclipse just rolls up and blows by your, spooling turbos and chirping blow off valves. If I could turn back the wheels of time, I would probably have a turbo eclipse. I'd probably be a major dick though and hate every car that wasn't a turbo eclipse/talon. Don't know why, the people who drive those cars are just like that.
There are other cars that I want very bad like bmw 330ci/xi's, lexus is300's, 350z's, lancer evolutions.. but you know, I figure I'll wait 5 years when they're all old and cheap and then buy them used. Then I can spend all the extra money modding my car instead of paying it off.
