Johnny Lee and his Wiimote
You've probably seen this guy by now, but he's worth talking about. He basically did some experimentation with the infrared camera on a Wiimote and came up with some pretty interesting results.
I think the most interesting thing to note, as he explains in the above TED video, is his desire to bring technology to those who cannot afford it.
Personally, I'm more interested in what future researchers will be able to realize now that the gates are open. How about 3-D touch games that are powered by an infrared camera and some infrared dots on your head and hands?
How about 3-D photo browsing? Or turning your monitor into an iphone-like touch screen?

I posted most of his youtube vids on GW months ago. And how did you end up turning "multi-touch" into "an iphone-like touchscreen"? *sigh*
